About the role:
CLA is looking to hire a part-time Bookkeeper/Analyst in our Bethlehem, PA location .
Job Responsibilities:
  • Financial Statement Preparation.
  • Collect, analyze, summarize, and reconcile general ledger account information.
  • Tax services (i.e. sales & use tax), preparation of 1099s, preparation of fixed asset schedules.
  • Cash management and sales tax.
  • Prepare financial statements according to established timeline and within established budget.
  • Monthly account reconciliations.
  • Ensure clients are serviced in a punctual, professional and time sensitive manner.
  • Ensure client and firm information is protected and its confidentiality is secure.
  • Keep current with applicable financial policies, regulations and legislation.
  • Perform all accounting tasks and duties based on generally accepted accounting principles or another comprehensive basis of accounting.
  • Client QuickBooks training.
  • Prepare personal property tax returns on occasion.
  • At year-end, assist with preparation of necessary tax workpapers and workpapers needed for third parties.
  • A/P, A/R
  • Develop periodic reports for client, as required.
  • Conduct month-end and year-end close processes.
Job Requirements:
  • Technology: proficient in the use of QuickBooks and commonly used software.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Able to organize information, files and workload while maintaining focus.
  • Various industry knowledge a plus and local travel may be required.
  • Respond to immediate client needs or requests; demonstrates that clients’ perspectives are valued; strives to consistently meet service and engagement standards and objectives.
  • Clear and succinct written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adhere to and respects deadlines.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Accounting and financial experience is preferred.
  • Able to gather information, review documentation, ask appropriate questions, and perform basic research.
  • Attention to detail: ability to produce error-free work; ability to effectively self-review.
  • Basic understanding of principles of individual and business taxation at federal, state and local levels.
