Parks Maintenance Worker Jobs

The City of Avondale has an opportunity for a Parks Maintenance Worker assigned to the Parks & Recreation Department. This is a full-time, FLSA non-exempt position with benefits. Provides general maintenance and repair to City parks and sports fields. The duties of the Parks Maintenance Worker will include but are not limited to irrigation system maintenance, daily restroom cleaning, and stocking, trimming of trees and bushes, turf maintenance including; over-seeding, fertilizing and top dressing, playground cleaning and ongoing maintenance, picnic shelter cleaning and upkeep, trash, and debris removal. The Parks Maintenance Worker's primary goal is to ensure all elements of the parks are in working order and to provide a safe and clean environment to all park visitors. The Parks Maintenance Worker will assist the Parks Maintenance Lead with any other assigned duties. This position may require participation in a rotational schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Essential Functions Ensures Irrigation Systems are properly operating to provide effective watering to City Parks. Installs, troubleshoots, and repairs various types and models of irrigation controllers, including electrical troubleshooting of all the systems such as transient protection boards, step-down transformers, and system wires.
