Paraprofessional, 1:1 Jobs

SEEM Collaborative's Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students is seeking to fill the position of paraprofessional to work with students in a preschool to third grade setting. Experience with young special needs students preferred.

Scope of duties include:

• Willingness to participate in on-site sign language training is required.
• Under the supervision of the teacher and the clinical team to implement appropriate therapeutic strategies as designed by the educational and clinical teams.
• To cooperate with the teacher to assist in carrying out the instructional program by working with individual students or small groups under the supervision of the teacher.
• To provide coverage for the classroom teacher due to meetings, trainings, or other activities that require the teacher to be absent.
• Other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher, program coordinator/executive director.
• Under the supervision of the teacher to provide instruction in specific areas as planned by the classroom instructional team.
• To work with an individual student, offering 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• To participate fully in scheduled supervision meetings with the rest of the team.
• Must have the ability to push, pull or lift approximately 40 lbs. Must have the ability to move quickly from standing to floor and floor to standing.
• Must be able to work remotely if necessary.

Employment is contingent upon passing a SAFIS fingerprint and CORI screening.
