Title Packer/ Laborer

Location Valparaiso, IN

Shift 6pm- 6am, Overnight 12 hour shift

Pay $16/hour

Overview Under the direct supervision of the Production Supervisor, the Packer/Laborer is responsible for monitoring and operating manual and highly automated production equipment.

Essential Job Functions

• Frequent lifting (34-66% of the day)
• Packing 25 kg (55 ) bags (up to 600 in a 12-hour period)
• Accurately filling out necessary paperwork to record process information
• Taking samples of product throughout the whole process, and maintaining sample identification
• Packing 250-600 k bags (550-1320 lbs.) bags
• Frequent stair climbing (3 flights, approximately 12 times per day)
• Ability to negotiate on grated floors up to three stories high
• Ability to safely operate forklifts
• Constant standing (66-100% of the day)
• Completes any and all other duties, as required or
• Assisting with ancillary processes (such as presses, re-feeding, )
• Frequent overhead reaching (34-66% of the day)
• Assist Supervisors and Console Operators as needed
• Monitoring equipment condition and communicating any deficiencies to
• Ensuring product traceability throughout process
• Constant use of upper extremities, e. hands and arms (67-100% of the day)
• Keeping work areas clean and
• Working safely, following all plant rules, reporting all near misses and unsafe conditions to
• Cleaning out equipment during product changes or when

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Mechanical ability is helpful
