Packaging Technician Jobs

Turner Industries Group is looking for experienced Packaging Technicians in the Baton Rouge, LA area. This role is responsible for safe packaging and shipping of materials in a chemical plant.

Job Duties

• Responsible for safe operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of material loading systems.
• Communication with team
• Perform quality control activities: checking for damaged containers or bags prior to shipping, verification of proper paperwork/labeling.
• Housekeeping

Schedule

• Days, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Occasional overtime
• 12 hour shifts

Job Qualifications

• Willingness to be part of a team
• Warehouse/packaging experience is a plus
• On the job training will be provided
• Mandatory background check and drug test
• Forklift operation is a plus
• Valid picture ID/ State issued ID

Per diem and relocation are not available for this position; the successful candidate will be a current resident in the Baton Rouge, LA area.

Functional Requirements

Assumes responsibility for assisting in meeting plant production requirements as set by client/owner; observant of operating process equipment and maintenance needs; communicating with supervision as necessary to ensure maximum performances as outlined by production goals. Task included, but not limited to: spreading, scraping, and packaging.

Qualification Standards

• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Written pre-employment qualification test
• Pass background check

Physical Involvement

Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 100 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.
