Job Description
About Flourish

Would you like to join a highly motivated team on a mission to dramatically improve the lives of teens struggling with early indicators of serious mental health concerns? 1 in 25 adolescents and young adults will be diagnosed with psychosis-related disorders, mood disorders, major depressive disorders and other related conditions every year. The majority of these families struggle for decades to find stability and a pathway forward that minimizes suffering. Yet, for 5% of these families, the journey is very different- an outcome of stability and lasting recovery. Why? Contrary to popular belief, it is not due to the genetic lottery – it is because they have access to care that works.

Flourish is here because it isn’t just our story, but one that affects millions of families; and probably somebody you know too. It is crystal clear that the suffering often associated with serious mental illness is preventable. We are here to ensure that everybody gets the same access we have.

About the Role

As Flourish Health’s first growth-team hire, you will have the opportunity to play an impactful role in shaping the company’s growth from the ground up. In this role, you will function as the day-to-day owner of all the operational activities that allow us to enroll new patients in our program. This includes collaborating with the expanding network of clinicians making referrals to Flourish Health as well as serving as the initial point of contact for the adolescent patients and their families to whom we provide care. In doing so, you will have the opportunity to help build and refine our company’s “playbook” for how we effectively engage clinicians and families in the process of securing referrals and translating them into enrolled patients.

Some of the Responsibilities

In this role, you will divide your time across the following types of activities:

Provider Relations

  • Build feedback loop with referrers, providing status updates on patients and reinforcing the value of our services to referrers as well as patients and their families
  • Establish and grow relationships with mental health providers and staff members, nurturing a steady stream of referrals to our program
  • Serve as a liaison between referral sources and Flourish Health’s enrollment team

Patient & Family Communications

  • Collect sensitive information required to verify patient eligibility
  • Call prospective adolescent patients and their families to educate them about our program and convince them to enroll in our services
  • Support patients and families with any troubleshooting needs

Sales Enablement

  • Develop and refine effective outreach tactics and talk tracks to promote our services and engage patients, their families and healthcare professionals
  • Accurately update and maintain contacts in Flourish Health’s customer relationship management system
  • Analyze outreach efforts and track key metrics to optimize performance
The Right Person

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the communication skills and empathy to deliver best-in-class service to both referring clinicians as well as our adolescent patients and their families who are enrolling in our program. Much of this communication will take place telephonically, so the candidate must possess the appetite and resilience to spend a significant portion of their day on phone with care teams and families. They will also demonstrate strong attention to detail, a knack for organization and the ability to constantly reprioritize tasks, allowing them to effectively juggle several activities, simultaneously. Finally, to succeed in this role, the ideal candidate should be able to put aside their ego and get excited about executing all of the little - but extremely critical and valuable! - tasks that allow us to deliver care to a growing population of individuals in need of care.

The right person (hopefully, you!) cares deeply about improving outcomes and quality of life for individuals with serious mental health conditions and their families. If that resonates, we encourage you to apply, whether you check all the boxes or not. We’re focused on cultivating a community of people who can grow with us, and you might be the person we’re looking for, even if you don’t realize it yet. Notably, we encourage those with lived experience, and members of traditionally underrepresented communities to apply, including people of color, LGBTQ-identifying people, veterans, and differently abled individuals.

In your application, please feel free to note which pronouns you use (optional). If you need reasonable adjustments at any point in the application or interview process, please let us know.

What We Really Care About for this Role
  • Selfless team player who brings a sense of humility and a collaborative nature to their work
  • Good telephone demeanor (i.e., a polite, tactful, reassuring and helpful approach); willingness to spend a significant amount of time each day on the phone
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with adolescent patients, their families, community stakeholders and a variety of medical providers and staff
  • Ability to juggle and thoughtfully prioritize several competing tasks / needs
  • Ability to thoughtfully discuss patients’ mental health history and needs, maintaining privacy and respect for personal, confidential and sensitive information
  • Growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, with a disposition for going above and beyond core responsibilities
How to Get Involved

If this resonates with you and want to join a highly driven, mission-oriented team that enjoys working hard, has fun together, and embraces quirkiness, please contact us and be sure to include a resume as well as an explanation of why you are interested in this position and why you’re uniquely equipped to excel in this role.
