Job Description
Purpose

This role will support the senior management team that is developing, constructing and operating large scale offshore wind projects which will provide affordable, clean energy and will have a transformational impact on local communities. Avangrid Renewables’ offshore business is located in Boston, Massachusetts.


The Outreach Coordinator will assist with stakeholder outreach for the Park City Wind and Commonwealth Wind projects, working closely with the Avangrid Renewables Offshore Development, External Affairs, and Communications teams.


The position serves as part of the External Affairs/Outreach team and requires an ability to manage simultaneous priorities. The position will be based out of Boston, MA, or Bridgeport, CT, and will routinely require travel within Massachusetts and/or Connecticut.


Helps plan and execute stakeholder outreach events hosted and sponsored by Park City Wind and Commonwealth Wind in Massachusetts and Connecticut to maximize return on investment and outcomes for the company.


Regularly works with the other members of the outreach team to build and sustain relationships with stakeholder groups, advocates, and others across project areas.


Responsibilities


Responsibilities are wide-ranging and include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Helps organize supporters around various open comment periods, and government meetings and hearings as part of permitting processes for the projects.
  • Provides input on and helps manage sponsorship opportunities, memberships, speaking requests and other community involvement on behalf of Park City Wind and Commonwealth Wind.
  • Works closely with the Manager of External Affairs on processing of invoices and management of project budgets for outreach, memberships, events, and sponsorships.
  • Works to organize public events for Park City Wind and Commonwealth Wind.
  • Works on efforts to advance approval of the Park City Wind and Commonwealth Wind permit applications at the federal, state, regional and local levels, as needed.
  • Serves as a liaison to advocates, interest groups, stakeholders, local officials, and others, organizing, staffing, speaking and appearing at various public events to represent the Park City Wind and Commonwealth Wind project teams.


Additionally, the role will work with various other teams including workforce development, fisheries, permitting, etc.


Skills And Requirements


Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience.


Ability to work diligently and independently


Have demonstrated experience executing events and stakeholder management


Well spoken, ambitious, and have experience in Massachusetts OR Connecticut


The Outreach Coordinator will be expected to work diligently and independently, and to draw on their experience to employ conventional and creative ways to reach the public, facilitate the spread of relevant project information, and help build a coalition of support that facilitates the permitting and construction of the Park City Wind and Commonwealth Wind offshore wind projects.


The ideal candidate will be well spoken, ambitious, and have demonstrated experience executing events and effective stakeholder management with a bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of relevant experience.
