Job Description
Responsibilities:
Salt Lake Behavioral Health is seeking a dynamic and talented Outpatient Trauma Therapist who specializes in Cognitive Processing Therapy. Our inpatient hospital, or outpatient services offer supportive and compassionate care through specialty programs that are tailored to meet the needs of our patients.

Salt Lake Behavioral Health is a private 118 bed freestanding psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health and substance abuse treatment for adolescents and adults. We serve the Salt Lake City and surrounding area using evidence-based treatments in a comfortable, confidential atmosphere.

We believe in an individualized, patient-focused approach to diagnosis and treatment. For some, anxiety or drug dependence looks different from others with the same diagnoses, and in some cases, Behavioral health and substance use disorders occur simultaneously. In these cases of dual-diagnosis, we treat the patients in the best way possible given their specific case.

The Outpatient Trauma Therapist performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed. The Outpatient Therapist will be responsible for managing a set case load, providing mental health/chemical dependency treatment in a group setting, completing individualized treatment plans, and coordinating continuing care/discharge planning. The Outpatient Therapist works with at treatment team and multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications:

Position Requirements:
  • Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field required.
  • License: CSW, LCSW, ACMHC, CMHC, AMFT, LMFT with the state of Utah
  • Experience: Knowledge and experience in Cogntive Processing Therapy. Two years experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills preferred; must have strong clinical assessment skills.
  • Additional Requirements: CPR certification is required. AMSR Training is required within 90 days. You will need to successfully complete our current training for restraints and seclusions. This training will need to be done prior to assisting in any patient restraints or seclusions and within 90 days of employment. May be required to work flexible hours.
