Job Description

Summary

Peak Sports exists to combine our passion for the outdoors with the products needed to help guests conquer whatever adventures they dream up. Whether they?re on a bike, in a kayak, strapped into a snowboard, or simply on their own two feet, our goal is to make sure our guests are equipped with the best products to maximize their valuable time outside. Serving the Willamette Valley since 1971, Peak Sports believes everyone should be able to enjoy the outdoors, regardless of body type, race, religion, gender, sexuality, or experience level. Our success stems not just from our own passions but from a culture that values every employee?s hard work, empathy, and creativity.

Duties

As a manager at the Peak Sports Annex consignment shop, you?ll be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, including leading a team of Annex sales guides, setting standards for seasonal item intake and pricing, and lending a hand on the sales floor when things get busy. You?ll help evaluate consignment offerings to ensure they meet our brand and quality guidelines, then use your extensive knowledge of outdoor activities to help guests looking to expand their wardrobe and adventure needs. Your judgment and critical eye not only ensure our consignment store is stocked with high-quality merchandise, they also help you discern guests? needs so you can put the right product in their hands and help them find success on the trails, in the water, or on the snow.

For an idea of the types of products you?ll encounter at our consignment store, check out our Peak Sports Annex Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/peaksportsannex

Requirements

Our ideal candidate has experience in all types of outdoor adventures as well as the gear that goes along with it. While you may not be an expert in every category, we hope you have at least some knowledge and experience with biking, snow sports, paddle sports, camping, hiking, backpacking, clothing, footwear, and car racks. Most importantly, we?re seeking someone that gets excited at the prospect of learning more about each of these fields.

As a manager at our consignment store, it?s important you foster a collaborative and supportive attitude among your colleagues and always be on the lookout for ways to improve intake efficiency and overall profitability. Your retail and customer service experience will help you provide outstanding service to our guests as well as manage challenging situations as they arise.

Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of Google Suite products will help you efficiently manage product intake, process sales, and price merchandise.

Lastly, your creativity is key in ensuring seasonal products are displayed in an engaging way. Lean on your outdoor experience to display merchandise in a way that helps guests envision themselves shredding trails, paddling through rapids, or conquering mountains. Lean on your aesthetic vision to create fun and creative images to promote our unique offerings for sharing on our social media feeds.

Benefits

As a Peak Sports employee, you?ll have access to a comprehensive employer-subsidized health plan, 80 hours of paid vacation, 40 hours of paid sick leave, as well as killer discounts on an extensive range of clothing, outdoor gear, and cycling equipment. At Peak Sports, we work hard so we can play hard, and we want to ensure you have plenty of chances to gain first-hand knowledge and experience with the amazing merchandise we offer.

We want our workplace to feel comfortable, welcoming, and fun, so we keep our dress code flexible and encourage our employees to bring along their well-behaved dogs because who doesn?t love spending the day next to a wagging tail?

Finally, we encourage employees to take advantage of our extensive range of rental equipment at our outdoor and bike shops. From kayaks to skis to bikes, we?ve got the gear to help you get a taste of everything Oregon has to offer, and it?s all 100% free for employees.

Interested candidates should include a cover letter expressing their passion for the outdoors and their retail experience. We can?t wait to hear from you!
