Jacobs has supported the Optical Sciences customer for 35+ years. Jacobs employee satisfaction for the on-going work and research on support of the NRL customer is very high.

Responsibilities:

You will engage in basic and applied research in the field of IR spectroscopy. The primary duties will be to perform laboratory experiments and to collect and analyze data and publish results in support of ongoing research. You will determine system requirements, design and assemble optical systems, and install and maintain laser systems. The position involves performing modeling, development, and operation of electro-optic, infrared, mid-wave, and/or long-wave systems.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
  • Experience with Matlab
  • Secret Clearance
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain a secret level security clearance
  • Position requires strong verbal and written communication skills
  • PhD degree working in technical field
  • Independent problem solving skills
  • PhD in Physical Chemistry or other closely related field
  • Experience with IR spectroscopy Experience running and operating laser systems Preferred:
