Description

Summary:
Operates specialized ophthalmic equipment. Performs ophthalmic imaging procedures.

Work Schedule: Full Time Days

Responsibilities:


  • Manages patient care and assists with patient flow.
  • Provides documentation, patient education and enters charges.
  • Under the direct supervision of the eye care provider, assists with performing patient care.
  • Under the direction and supervision of an eye care provider: Performs diagnostic testing. Administers intravenous agents in preparation for retinal angiography. Performs clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area. Provides education to students, residents and staff; assists in orienting and mentoring staff.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent vocational training will be considered.
  • Required Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider. Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA) within two years of hire. IV certification within 6 months of hire (tracked by the unit).
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year of related experience or vocational training. Preferred: 3 years of related experience.

The pay range for this position is: $25.80 - $38.70 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
