Operator For Yard Tractor

Please note that this position is a 12-hour night shift (700 pm - 7 am) with 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off rotation schedule)

Summary:
Responsible for shuttling trailers to and from satellite warehouse(s), moving trailers around the property lot, and tracking trailer locations.

Responsibilities:
Safely operate Yard Tractor while maneuvering trailers on the property lot.
All pre and post-trip inspections must be completed and documented on appropriate forms.
Safely operate all Material Handling Equipment and perform the necessary safety checks prior to operating.
The trailer must be secured to the dock via a dock lock system or wheel chocks prior to entry.
All job functions must be performed within the scope of the Job Safety Analysis (JSA’s).
Always maintain food safety awareness and immediately report any issues to management.
Operate within the guidelines of all SQF policies and procedures.
Operate within the guidelines of all Pretzel’s Inc. policies and procedures.
Perform all necessary inspections and verifications.
Correctly attach identifying tags or labels to materials as needed.
Make all transactions within EPICOR to ensure inventory accuracy and lot control are always maintained. Comprehend data entry into EPICOR and databases.
Comprehend the reading of shipping & receiving documents, gauges, schedules, and dispatches.
Move materials in and out of storage safely and without damage
Generate all necessary shipping documents via EPICOR
Check shipping documents for accuracy prior to making copies for the driver.

Relationships/Contacts
In a positive tone, communicate to customers, drivers, dispatchers, etc., at the window or by phone. Communicate with the oncoming crew to ensure a smooth transition.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities: Class A CDL in good standing and maintained as required under DOT
Forklift certification, Yard Tractor Certification, M.H.E. Certification.
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required.
Must pass the Math skills test. • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds required. Physical Demands and Work Environment Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
Work involves frequent lifting of materials and products up to 40 pounds.
Machinery operation requires using safety equipment including but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hard hats. Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted to follow the manufacturing GMP policy as written.
