Operations Research Data Analyst

The Opportunity:

As an analytics professional, you’re excited at the prospect of unlocking the secrets held by a data set, and you’re fascinated by the possibilities presented by IoT, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Your deep understanding of operations research, modeling and simulation, and analytics and consulting expertise, coupled with an original approach to your work, will guide clients and stakeholders as they make sense of their data and encourage actionable results. We’re looking for someone like you to lead complex data exploration and analytics through your experience with utilizing operational research to improve program test and evaluations.

As an operations research analyst, you will provide system performance and effectiveness analyses to support the development of new capabilities. You'll assist in test planning and execution by identifying test data requirements, collecting required data, and reducing data in preparation for analysis. You'll participate in the development of test run cards and attend mission briefs and debriefs. You'll support test mission execution and conduct real-time quick look evaluation of test results. You'll participate in test reporting by reviewing test data and performing data validation and verification to ensure data integrity and accuracy. You'll also develop analytical tools, such as mathematical models, equations, computer programs, and computer simulations, to model and analyze data.

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
  • 5+ years of experience with analyzing large-scale datasets using data analysis tools, such as Excel or JMP
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Experience providing system performance and effectiveness analyses to support the development of new capabilities
  • Experience with developing, conducting, and coordinating high-priority planning and in-depth data analyses of major project assignments
  • Experience in statistics, operations research, mathematics, optimization, modeling and simulation, prediction, estimation, decision analysis, or engineering management
  • Experience assisting in test planning and execution and the design process by identifying test data requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with gathering, cleansing, and parsing data gathered from aircraft systems
  • Experience reviewing flight test reports for anomaly investigation, technical solution development, and coordination and performing technical reviews
  • Experience with using scientific methods to inform qualitative and quantitative analyses

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in creating models and engineering solutions using networking or telecommunications technologies and systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research or Applied Mathematics
  • Ability to work in Windows and Linux OS environments
  • Knowledge developing analytical tools, including mathematical models, equations, computer programs, and computer simulations, to model and analyze data

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $65,300.00 to $149,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
