What You Will Do


As an Operations Research Analyst, you will be responsible for researching, developing, and implementing advanced quantitative models to improve operating efficiency, reduce cost and increase revenue. You will have direct contact with business partners and you will participate in identifying business requirements, collecting and performing data analysis, developing models, and generating reports to address business needs.


Preferred Background And Skills


  • Software development methodology knowledge is a plus
  • A graduate degree (Ph.D. preferred) in operations research, industrial engineering, computer science, or a related engineering and management discipline from an accredited University in the US
  • Solid operations research knowledge and experience in formulating and implementing optimization models such as MIP, network flow, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through oral presentations and written reports
  • SQL and relational databases knowledge
  • Heuristic and algorithm development experience
  • Approximate Dynamic Programming (ADP) knowledge/experience
  • Ability to learn railroad domain knowledge quickly
  • Ability to work in LINUX platform
  • Experience in transportation industry is a plus
  • Ability to maintain and enhance existing simulation optimization models using CPLEX in Java
