**OPERATIONS MANAGER **


GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB


Reporting to the General Manager of the facility, Responsible for directing and coordinating activities on the production team, ensuring conformance to schedule, labor distribution, productivity, and part quality focusing on producing ZERO Defects. This role leads and coaches three Production Shift Supervisors and an hourly staff of 45-60 including team leads and machine operators.


Responsibilities


  • Achieve 85% conformance to schedule in support of 100% on-time delivery.
  • Drives manufacturing operating policy supported by lean concepts, to realize business strategy and to support JIT volume fluctuations.
  • Responsible for coordinating all preventive maintenance activities within the cells.
  • Improve effective part throughput, achieving steady improvement and ZERO Defects.
  • Achieve a maximum total cost of waste of 2%.
  • Drives best practices and has accountability for all aspects of plant production performance, ensuring volume objectives are attained in a cost-effective, reduced waste manner that is consistent with customer quality and safety requirements, and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
  • Increase productivity, steadily improving earned hours/actual hours paid.
  • Identify and resolve safety issues.
  • Meet all production schedules.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities -- Guides, coaches and supports team members and teams to perform their roles successfully. Also includes, interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems to support HR Vision and Mission.

Qualifications For Success


  • Experience in highly engineered, plastic injection molding industry, preferred
  • Plant leadership experience and a positive motivator skills are essential
  • Knowledge and experience with capacity Planning, Material and Information Flow Systems, Quality Systems/Process for the entire Value Stream
  • 5-15 years of experience in production or operations management for manufacturing industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering preferred
