Dal-Tile is currently seeking an eager and motivated Operations Manager II to join our TEAM! As an Operations Manager II, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as direct and coordinate the overall tile manufacturing operation and manages and directs the daily activities of the QC, Lab and Kiln functions.
Primary Objective
Directs and coordinates the overall tile manufacturing operation at a production site to ensure all objectives (quantity, quality, safety, cost control, etc.) are met
Major Function and Scope
Ensures continuous and efficient production in desired quantities and in a timely manner to meet logistic schedules.
Ensures safe and healthful working conditions for associates and ensures an organized work environment.
Develops a schedule that meets production objectives in coordination with other areas.
Manages and directs the daily activities of the QC, Lab and Kiln functions.
Establishes, maintains, and analyzes budgets, records, and other controls to continually minimize costs consistent with efficient operations.
Conducts reviews of quality system.
Recommends and implements approved capital projects.
Implements production process on new products.
Ensures appropriate training of organization as needs are identified.
Coaches and reviews performance of exempt level direct reports.
Supports company affirmative action plans and goals.
Experience And Knowledge Required
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent experience. Bachelor’s degree in Management/Business/Ceramics is preferred. Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word). Knowledge of ceramic industry and quality standards preferred.
4 or more years of plant/operations supervisory experience.
Competencies
Core competencies include strong communications and listening skills, strong organizational skills, ability to delegate, and ability to organize, analyze and interpret data. Ability to plan, schedule, relate ideas and coordinate priorities. Ability to train, motivate, and coach associates.
