The Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco is seeking an Operations Assistant Manager in our Los Angeles cash office location. As the Operations Assistant Manager, you will lead a large team focusing on operational excellence in the processing of US currency using complex, authentication in our mission of providing for the nation’s currency and coin needs. You will be responsible for developing a team that is accountable for driving operational excellence in a fast paced and highly regulated environment.
Our ideal candidate for this role is a proven operations and people leader with experience influencing multiple departments across an organization, is an excellent communicator, sets a high bar for themself, and is adept at developing and coaching talent. Banking experience is not required. Experience in military, manufacturing, automotive, biotech, electronics, energy, machinery, defense/aerospace, medical, cosmetics, production, or distribution environments are also desired.
Location: Federal Reserve Bank Los Angeles Branch (100% on-site)

Work schedule: The Operations Assistant Manager will help lead the night shift team with a 4/10 schedule of 7:00PM-6:00AM Monday evening to Friday morning (includes a 10% differential which is in addition to the base salary.)
( Flexibility in being able to work a schedule of 7:00PM-6:00AM Tuesday evening to Saturday morning will be required when a multi-year project begins in mid-2024 .)
What you'll do
  • Engage team members during their shifts to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, performance, and engagement.
  • Exercise agility by thinking strategically, executing tactically, and collaborating across diverse teams, levels, and situations.

  • Build a learning culture by ensuring operational leaders maximize the Bank’s career framework program (Navigate) to develop top talent through coaching, mentoring, on the job training, and defined learning paths (including education and certifications).
  • Support large-scope projects within the site, across the 12th District and nationally.
  • Supervise and manage currency volumes, production capacity, labor resources to ensure performance goals are achieved. Use data driven insights to understand trends and inform decisions.
  • Achieve operational excellence in the implementation of the Cash Group and SF Bank strategies by coaching, motivating, and supporting the team; ensure there is a strong adoption and understanding of organizational objectives, vision, and values.
  • Continuously monitor and assess operational activities to address gaps in procedural requirements to enable adherence to risk management while also making risk informed decisions that align with performance objectives.
  • Develop and lead a leadership team that's passionate about people development, operational excellence, and public service.

Base Salary Range: Min: $89,200 - Mid: $115,900 - Max: $142,400 (Location: Los Angeles)
Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant’s background, experience, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
