SALARY $52,312.00 - $83,699.00
EDUCATION ACCREDITATION: Applicant’s education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Education credentials obtained out of the US must be evaluated for US equivalency. Evaluation agencies information may be obtained at www.naces.org.
ELIGIBILITY: Qualified candidates will be considered for vacancies as they arise, for a period of at least six months. The decision of the Director of Human Resources with respect to acceptable minimum qualifications is final.
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK: Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to this position identified as positions of trust will be required to authorize the release of and successfully complete a Fingerprint check.
PROBATION: All persons, including current City employees, selected from this position will be on probation for 6 months.

CLASS DESCRIPTION
Operations Assistant III encompasses a variety of professional and analytical work involving the practical application of management principles and techniques to improve operational activities.
SELECTION PROCESS
Only classified City employees who indicate the minimum qualifications on their applications and have successfully completed a probationary period on or before the day of filing an application will be placed on the eligible list without further examination. The training and experience of each candidate will be evaluated for appropriateness and quantity. It is essential, therefore, that you give complete and accurate information on your application. Vagueness or omission may prevent you from being considered for the position. Qualified candidates will not be listed in rank order.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
On or before the date of filing the application, eligible classified City employees must:
EDUCATION: Have a high school diploma or GED certificate.
AND
EXPERIENCE: Have 3 years of experience performing and coordinating moderately-complex administrative/operations projects is required.
OR
NOTES (EQUIVALENCIES): Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Working knowledge of standard analytical principles and techniques.
  • Working knowledge of reference and research methods and techniques used in collecting, compiling, and organizing data.
  • Ability to prepare and present ideas and information clearly yet concisely.
  • Ability to prepare and present reports.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers and the general public.
  • Ability to collect, compile, edit, classify, and tabulate statistical and qualitative data.
  • Ability to explain an agency’s purpose, programs, and operations.
  • Working knowledge of English usage.
EXAMINATION PROCESS
