Job Title: Operating Room Surgical Technician

Job Summary:

The Operating Room Surgical Technician is responsible for working alongside surgeons and other healthcare professionals to assist in surgical procedures. They ensure that the operating room is set up correctly for procedures, monitor patients during surgery, and sterilize operating room equipment. This individual is a critical member of the surgical team and must possess excellent communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals during surgery, such as anesthesiologists, nurses, and surgeons
• Maintain a sterile environment throughout the procedure, including cleaning and sterilizing equipment
• Document all information accurately in patient medical records
• Monitor the patient's vital signs, including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation
• Set up the operating room for procedures by selecting and preparing equipment and instruments
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and equipment

Qualifications and Skills:

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program
• Attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure
• Completion of a Surgical Technologist training program
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
