Job Description

Position: Part-Time English Teacher


Summary:

The part-time English Teacher position requires availability from 8 pm to 9 pm Mexico time, conducting group classes twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The teacher will be responsible for delivering English language instruction to a minimum of 5 to 8 advanced Mexican students per class, with a strong focus on conversation practice. The provided teaching materials are designed to enhance student engagement, and classes can be dynamic and less strict in nature. Additionally, there is potential for future opportunities to teach private classes.


Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct dynamic and engaging English classes: Deliver interactive lessons that encourage active participation and conversation among advanced Mexican students, promoting fluency and confidence in speaking English.
  2. Utilize provided teaching materials: Incorporate the provided materials into lessons to facilitate conversation practice and maintain a structured framework for language learning.
  3. Adapt lessons to meet student's needs: Assess the language proficiency and individual learning goals of the students and tailor the lessons to address their specific areas of improvement, ensuring maximum engagement and progress.
  4. Foster a relaxed and supportive learning environment: Create a classroom atmosphere that encourages open discussions, encourages students to express their thoughts, and builds their confidence in using English.
  5. Provide timely feedback and guidance: Regularly assess students' speaking abilities and provide constructive feedback to help them improve pronunciation, vocabulary, and grammar usage.
  6. Collaborate with colleagues: Collaborate with other English teachers and staff to exchange ideas, share strategies, and enhance the overall English language program, particularly in the context of conversation practice.
  7. Private class opportunities: Utilize your skills and experience to potentially teach private classes in the future, allowing for greater opportunities and higher prospects.


Qualifications:

  1. Native or near-native proficiency in written and spoken English: Possess excellent command of the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
  2. Teaching experience: One year of experience in teaching English, preferably
  3. TEFL/TESOL certification: Possession of a recognized TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) or TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification is an advantage but not required.
  4. Cultural sensitivity: Awareness and understanding of Mexican culture and the ability to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for students.
  5. Time availability: Must be available from 8 pm to 9 pm Mexico time on Tuesdays and Thursdays to conduct the group classes.
