Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Client Services, the Nutrition Professional is responsible for menu planning, development and approval to ensure adherence to the nutrition requirements of the Older Americans Act. This position also requires communication, input and analysis to support new programing and partnerships.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·Review menus and nutrient analysis’ to ensure compliance

·Make suggestions for new menu items

Create monthly nutrition education handouts that will be of interest and applicable to HCMOW clients

·Make phone calls to applicable clients associated with Nutrition Risk Assessment

·Collaborate with Client Services Department to offer feedback, suggestions and learning opportunities pertaining to meals, menu development, food standards and food quality

·Collaborate and offer expertise as needed as it pertains to special events program as well as any new partnerships and programming.

·Utilize nutrient analysis software to determine qualifying menus options for Special Events and Meal Voucher, and other special programs

·Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information

·Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a high degree of skill and discretion

·Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

I. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)

·Completed a minimum of a bachelor’s degree granted by a US regionally accredited college or university (or foreign equivalent);

·Completed an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) accredited Didactic Program;

·Completed an ACEND accredited Dietetic Internship or Coordinated Program;

·assed the national Registration Examination for Dietitians; and

·Meets current continuing professional education requirements to maintain registration.
