Job Description

Role Summary

The Nursing Instructor plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals. The individual in this position is responsible for delivering high-quality educational experiences that prepare students for successful careers in healthcare. Success in this role is demonstrated through the consistent delivery of engaging, comprehensive lectures, the development of relevant and challenging course materials, and the ability to inspire students to reach their full potential. This role is integral to the overall success of our institution as it directly contributes to the caliber of graduates we produce.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in faculty and community meetings, educational conferences, and faculty planning sessions
  • Collaborate with other faculty to improve teaching methods and to create a curriculum responsive to industry needs
  • Develop and deliver course content in a range of nursing subjects, ensuring material is current, accurate, and relevant to industry standards
  • Advise and mentor students on course selection, progress towards graduation, and career paths
  • Assess student performance through examinations, homework, and other evaluative measures, providing constructive feedback in a timely manner
  • Utilize innovative teaching methodologies to inspire students and enhance learning
  • Plan, evaluate, and revise curricula, course content, course materials, and methods of instruction

Qualifications

  • Ability to work effectively within a team-based environment
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse educational environment and workplace
  • Demonstrated understanding of current nursing practices and industry trends
  • Prior experience in a clinical nursing setting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
  • Previous teaching experience in a nursing program is strongly preferred
  • Proficient in using technology as a teaching tool
  • Master's degree in Nursing required, Doctorate preferred
  • Current nursing license
