Job Description
Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Nursing Program Coordinator, the Nurse Aide (CNA) Instructor will teach students according to the established policies and procedures to provide competent and effective classroom and laboratory instruction at varied times and places based on student demand.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adhere to times scheduled for class sessions.
  • Support the college’s mission, including the institution’s commitment to providing opportunities to students without regard to race, sex, age, income, religion, disability, or occupation.
  • Work cooperatively with others to plan and accomplish goals of the ESCC.
  • Evaluate inventory of instructional materials and equipment and advise the Nursing Program Coordinator and college administration on related needs.
  • Assign outside learning experiences to students that reinforce classroom instruction.
  • Provide clinical supervision at varied times and places and in varied formats based on student demand; day, evening, or weekend, at any approved clinical site.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit accurate student and class records in accordance with College policies and procedures.
  • Maintain program certifications/accreditations as required.
  • Maintain licensure and certification as required.
  • Teach face to face courses, during the scheduled meeting times in the area of Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Prepare instructional materials, deliver instruction, and evaluate and record student progress in relation to achieving the objectives and learning outcomes of the course.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse with at least two years of in field experience.
  • An active unencumbered Alabama Board of Nursing License with no restrictions as a Registered Nurse.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior teaching experience

Other Special Qualifications/Requirements of the Job:
1. Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
2. Communicate in a professional, effective and pleasant manner with students, college employees, clinical facilities, and the general public.

Application Procedures/Additional Information

SALARY:
Salary Schedule L $24 - $32 per hour (maximum of 19 hours per week) , to be determined by the applicant’s education and years of applicable experience. Applicant acknowledges that if selected for the position that applicant’s placement on the applicable salary schedule will be dependent upon the verified information provided.

POSITION DEADLINE:
