Home Health Department, assisting our clients and members in their homes in the Honolulu area and also at our Arcadia Retirement Residence and 15 Craigside location Assisted Living Department when needed.
The ideal candidates will have flexible availability (including weekends) and be willing to work a variety of shifts including day, evening, and overnight shifts.
Full Time (40 hrs. per week)
Part Time B (20-29 hrs. per week)
Casual hire (<20 hrs. per week)
*Overnight shift highly desirable
- Answers call lights to determine clients’ needs (Day Care only).
- Eating; which includes set-up, serving and collecting food plates and utensils,
- Dressing;
- Assists clients or members with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as:
- Bathing;
- Eating; which includes set-up, serving and collecting food plates and utensils,
- Feeding clients or members who require assistance;
- Dressing;
- Oral hygiene; and
- Grooming as needed.

- Assistance with toileting and provides appropriate peri care for incontinent clients or members.
- Assists clients or members to turn, reposition, and transfer, which may be performed by the NA without assistance, with a two person assistance, or by using a lift machine in accordance with the service plan.
- Transports clients, or members with ambulation to and from their room to appropriate areas for activities and meals.
- Vitals (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, weight, and respiration rates)
- Intake and output of food and fluid
- Takes and records the clients and/or members:
- ADLs

- Transfers (one or two person) and ambulation status
- Mood/behaviors when resistant to care

- Provides companion services according to service plan.
- Observes and reports to Licensed Staff all changes in condition (including significant changes), behavior or whereabouts that may require intervention.
- Monitors and supervises clients, and members as assigned.
- Adheres to assigned work schedules and accurately uses the time and attendance system, which may include using a computer, personal cell phone, or client’s home phone.
- Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement and/or Quality Assurance Programs.
- Interacts with clients and members in accordance with AFCs’ mission, core values, mindsets and guideposts.
- Exercises caution and good safety judgment in uncertain conditions or situations, and report and/or correct hazards, potential or actual.
- Ensures that all clients’ and members’ rights and privacy are protected and enforced, and establishes and maintains a close liaison with clients, members’, and families.
- Attends mandatory in-service programs.
- Complies with annual employee health screening in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Participates and assists during emergency drills and situations such as fire, fire alarms, hurricanes, and other possible emergencies as outlined in the Disaster Response Playbook and/or the AHHS disaster policy.
- Actively participates in the programs and activities of the Center.
- Serves and collects food plates and utensils and pre-rinses and stores them properly for transfer to Arcadia.
- Changes bed linens and washes and folds laundry.
- Becomes familiar with the individualized service plan of assigned clients so as to carry out the Program’s services, goals, and objectives.
- Monitors and supervises specific clients or activities as assigned.
- Maintains Center’s facilities and equipment.
- Facilitates and supports client participation in planned activities at or away from the Center by assistance with ambulation of clients.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions.
- Ability to communicate with others (customers, vendors, and other employees, etc.) face to face (using service language).
- Ability to effectively present information in a small group setting.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide simple mathematical problems with or without the use of office equipment.
- Ability to write simple documents (general correspondence, documents)

While performing their essential functions, employees may be occasionally exposed to the following conditions:
