Position Summary
The College of Sciences, Health and Pharmacy at Roosevelt University invites applications for a Non-Tenure Track Assistant Teaching Professor, Nursing position to begin immediately. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in nursing with a focus on lab simulations, participate in the development of curriculum, and engage in service activities. The successful candidate will add value to the university community through activities including but not limited to: student academic and career advising, participation in Roosevelt University Inclusive Excellence initiatives, and/or external outreach.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support enrollment efforts
  • Supervise students in clinical and laboratory settings
  • Provide academic advising students
  • Contribute to curricular assessment and development
  • Other duties related to program needs
  • Maintain proper class-related records, and promptly assess student coursework and apprise students of progress
  • Direct the nursing lab and simulations
  • Stimulate class discussions and encourage active learning in all students

Minimum Qualifications
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
  • Teaching experience in nursing lab simulations.
  • MS in Nursing required
  • Current RN license or eligibility for licensure in Illinois.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years experience in lab simulations.
  • Doctor of Nursing Practice, or evidence of plan to pursue doctoral degree in Nursing or related field from a regionally accredited institution, if applicable.
  • Experience in using simulation in teaching.
  • Evidence of self-development through participation in continuing education offerings, advanced study, scholarly pursuit and/or professional and clinical activities.
