We are looking for a Non CDL Yard Jockey to join our Linkwood, MD team. No CDL required. This is a critical role responsible for moving trailers on the yard and backing them in and out of our ramp/pit area.

If you have production experience or experience operating a yard truck or tractor unit, this is a career you need to explore.

This position is scheduled to work Monday-Saturday, with every 3rd Saturday off, from 11:00pm – 7:30am.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinate the movement of trailers around the yard as needed.
• Safely operate equipment used such as forklift / front end loader.
• Report any issues to the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor about repair problems with the tanks & vehicles for possible changes to make them safer.
• Use cleaning equipment and chemicals to prepare tanks for refurbishing & truck washing.
• Maintains environment by monitoring activity on property, and report any concerns to management.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Wash truck and trailer equipment as assigned to ensure customer/supplier cleanliness standards are met.
• Efficient loading or unloading of trailers as assigned.
• Assist with plant production tasks as trained and needed.
• Expected to perform other duties as assigned.
• Police the yard and work areas for cleanliness & organization, dispose of trash/debris.
• Perform repairs to grease tanks and lids to make them road ready for raw material customers.
• Maintain logs and records as required.

Qualifications:

• Ability to read instructions on chemical containers and SDS.
• Must be able to drive tractor trailers on the yard safely and pick up trailers to dump.
• Must be able to read and write to understand safety training and maintain work records.
• Ability to deal with uncertainty, use good judgment, be objective, be dependable, and be professional when dealing with issues as they present themselves.
• Able to work unsupervised to complete tank repairs in a safe and efficient manner.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to move 55 gallon drums weighing 450 pounds using hand truck.
• Climb stairs frequently.
• Bending and stooping.
• Lifting and pulling of hoses and operating cleaning equipment.
• Climb ladders and work at heights up to 10 feet using all proper PPE.
• Stooping, bending, and squatting.
• Able to operate a tow cart to move grease tanks around as necessary.
• Walking, lifting, bending, climbing stairs and ladders frequently.
• Work at heights of at least 30 feet.
• Lift weight up to 50 pounds.

Working Environment:

• Typical industrial plant work environment. Ability to work both inside and outside, in a damp environment 80% of the time.
• Able to work inside or outside to refurbish grease tanks.
• Must be willing to work all shifts including over-time and weekends as needed.
• Working inside and outside of plant environment.
