Alpha Media-San Antonio News Talk 550 KTSA is looking for a talented, professional broadcast anchor/reporter with a great attitude and exceptional work ethic to anchor afternoon drive in San Antonio, Texas. The ideal candidate must be dependable, self-motivated and have a flexible schedule. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have experience in gathering news from multiple sources and must be able to deliver news, traffic and weather like a pro. Preferred candidates will understand the art of making relationships with key local figures, including mayors, sheriffs and numerous other newsmakers

We are looking for someone who understands how a story should lead off, as opposed to simply ripping and reading press releases. You must have an ear for cutting unnecessary audio from an actuality so it ‘pops’ on the air and you must know the difference between writing a news story for air versus online. We need a conformed writer who takes direction well from leadership and who works very well with others. Deadlines are obviously critical and you must get the idea of ‘getting it first, but first getting it right.’

Candidates with video experience are strongly encouraged to show their work and illustrate how this might be integrated into the KTSA repertoire.

Ideal daily schedule will be 10am-6pm or 11am-7pm, although these hours could change from time to time.

A minimum of 3 years of experience is required as well as a knowledge of audio editing software.
