Job Description

Join our team as a New Grad CRNA Apprentice where you will provide patient care and support during general, regional or MAC anesthesia. Additionally, you will have responsibilities for patient safety while under anesthesia. The CRNA works with the staff Anesthesiologist and Surgeon to provide all elements of a safe and beneficial surgical procedure.

What is a CRNA Apprentice? To support candidates’ immediate employment, Regions offers an apprenticeship program for new grad CRNAs. This allows the hospital to start our new hires prior to the credentialing process (which can take 3-6 months) being completed. Once the process is complete, we transition you into a CRNA role.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current RN license by Minnesota Board of Nursing
  • Graduate from School of Nursing
  • Current APRN license by Minnesota Board of Nursing
  • Graduate from School of Anesthesia or Certificate of Anesthesia program
  • Certified by the NBCRNA

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of anatomy and physiology, pharmacology of anesthesia drugs, anesthesia machines and monitors
  • Ability to work effectively across care teams, including Anesthesiologists, Surgeons, Nurse Anesthetists, patients and families, and other anesthesia staff, surgical staff, and others throughout the hospital
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Ability to make quick and safe decisions related to care and administration of anesthesia
  • Ability to perform all functions of anesthesia care to include but not limited to: Intubation, IV starting, monitor management, central line management, IV pump management, management of induction, maintenance and emergence of patients
  • Ability to assess and reassess patients and determine course of action as needed

Regions CRNA Loan Program:

As part of the total benefits package, Regions Hospital is pleased to offer a Loan Forgiveness program for students hired into the CRNA role.

Loan Forgiveness is different than a sign on bonus, in that you will receive the full amount within the first two paychecks upon employment with Regions Hospital, with no payroll taxes deducted.

Relocation Assistance:

For candidates outside of the Minneapolis/ St. Paul area, a relocation assistance bonus of up to $20,000 may be available as part of the compensation package.
