Under limited supervision, the EEG Technician is responsible for assuring accurate and timely neurodiagnostic testing. The EEG tech interprets and performs basic patient care procedures to assess quality testing specific to their area of expertise in accordance with medical staff approved protocols, physician orders, departmental policies and procedures and the American Society of Electrodiagnostic Testing guidelines. The EEG Tech is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for care given to patients for a designated time frame. The EEG Tech provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the environment/technology and other health care members, according to established standards. Patients served include all age groups (infant through adult-geriatric).

Qualifications
Six months experience in Electroencephalography required. Current BLS certification or obtained prior to providing direct patient care is required. Previous experience using a business office suite, such as Microsoft Office, is required.
