Position: Network Technician

Location: Albuquerque, NM

Clearance: Ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance.

The client is seeking a Senior Network Technician to support the IT program at a major national laboratory. The organization provides streamlined delivery of modern, scalable, and secure Enterprise Network Services that allow efficient, fast, and cyber-compliant connectivity to all Enterprise supported networks. The mission is to utilize best practices to create and apply standards, automation, and virtualization to expedite quality infrastructure services.

Responsibilities:

• Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning, including analysis of capacity needs for network infrastructures.
• Will be assisting with the network refresh, rack and stack equipment and help with migrations.
• May also design network and computer security measures.
• May research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software.
• Design and implement computer and information networks, such as local area networks (LAN) wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and other data communications networks.

Qualifications:

• In lieu of a degree, additional relevant experience is applicable.
• Experience with multi-vendor network switchers and routers and ability to navigate within and make changes to the configuration.
• Associate's degree in a relevant discipline and 5+ years of experience
• Operational knowledge of network management tools/systems
• Experience using Tier I & Tier 2 test equipment is needed.
• U.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q clearance.
