Job Description
Overview:
Expected pay for this position is $20.63 - $24.27/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

Travel is required - 70% travel with overnight stay throughout the entire OSF ministry (local and out of state - Michigan).

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Network and Low Voltage Wiring Technician I performs a variety of tasks related to the installation and decommissioning of network and low voltage wiring. This position will be responsible for supporting the tasks related to the implementation of network and structured cabling solutions.

Participates in and provides support for members of the team working to complete structured cabling projects. The work for these projects includes all components for data or voice communications using various kinds of cable, most commonly category 5e (CAT5e) and category 6a (CAT6a), fiber, patch panels, and modular connectors.

Supports and participates in the implementation and validation of all required tasks to install, test, troubleshoot, and commission completed wiring installations.

Provides input to, reviews, and maintains documentation related to upcoming and completed projects. Assist facility and engineering staff in the administration, and maintenance of operational standards and methodology, where applicable.

Assists in communication with site representative to coordinate network and low voltage wiring resources in the execution of projects. Give guidance to those we serve, along with any in-service, documentation, timeframes, vendors, expectations.

Follows Quality Assurance and Change Management procedures for implementing and upgrading systems. Also provides input on how to make the process more efficient.

Ensures that all work performed adheres to relevant Infection Control policies and procedures, as well as all applicable building, fire, and life safety codes.

Assists, documents, and communicates the receipt, storage, and requirements of assets related to network and low voltage wiring projects.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School/GED

Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: One year of progressively more responsible work experience in fields related to networking, maintenance, construction, and/or a skilled trade. Knowledge and adherence to relevant Infection Control policies and procedures, as well as all applicable building, fire, and life safety codes.
