Nephrology - Specialist Np/Pa

Advanced Practice Provider- NP/PA- Nephrology

The Division of Renal Diseases in the Department of Medicine, Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine at University of Texas Health San Antonio (UTHSA) is expanding our established nephrology team and are looking for an Advanced Practice provider (APP) with strong Nephrology experience. This position will be a Non-Tenure Track Specialist which duties include evaluation, diagnosis, and management of patients with complex illnesses in both the inpatient, outpatient dialysis clinics, and outpatient clinics. The APP will be expected to develop expertise in treatment of dialysis dependent end stage renal disease, chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, hypertension, metabolic and electrolyte disorders.

It is required that candidates have a minimal of 1 year NP/PA experience, masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and nurse practitioner program, current RN license and certified as a Nurse Practitioner. Physician Assistant should be accredited from a PA program with current certification by NCCPA and have a license issued by the Texas State Board of Medical practice. Basic Life support/Advanced life support certifcation is required. New graduates with prior dialysis or nephrology experience will be considered.
