NOTE - This role would start on 1st shift on a 4 x 10 hr schedule, Mon Thurs, until Level 1, and potential Level 2 certification is complete. When appropriate, the schedule would be shifted to 2nd shift

Position Summary

The individual's primary role will be to perform a variety of Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), X-ray, and Visual Testing (VT) inspections, which will include reading, interpreting, and understanding appropriate drawings, procedures, and instructions. Other duties will include:

Responsibilities

Perform routine maintenance on radiography and FPI equipment as needed

Work with the level 3 technicians to improve processes and reduce waste in the value stream

Assist in scheduling the workload of X-ray, FPI, and VT operations

Work with floor supervisors to help establish production routines

Ensure travelers, routings and TMDs are being complied with throughout the department

Operate X-ray machines, FPI booths, and borescopes as required in support of preparing parts and images for Level II interpretation

Read and understand part drawings and specifications associated with NDT

Learn/perform basic computer operations

Work closely with the engineering group and weld and braze specialists

Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent

Good interpersonal skills and willingness to work effectively as a participative team member

May be required to lift up to 35 lbs.

Utilize good verbal and written communication skills

Accurately perform basic mathematical calculations

Experience as a Level I in Radiography and/or FPI is preferred

NAS410 Certified in PT and/or RT is preferred

ASNT TC1A Certified in Visual Testing is preferred

Ability to pass a vision exam
