National Makeup Artist:
The National Makeup Artist (NMUA) are North America’s CHANEL ambassadors and top tier artists focused on delivering an unparalleled client experience and education development support for the brand. They identify and develop BA talent and capabilities to cultivate essential skills and attributes to maximize individual contribution and engagement.
Finally, they provide a unique and memorable luxury client experience at point-of-sale in person or virtually. As a true Brand Ambassador, this individual is highly skilled in CHANEL Makeup Artistry, skincare diagnosis, selling and “ making the client’s dream ours.”

Position Responsibilities:
CHANEL Ambassador: the NMUA embodies the values of the brand.
  • Demonstrate excellent client experience standards at all points of sale.
  • Bring top tier professionalism and energy at all moments when representing the brand, that engage and inspire both clients and in store teams.
  • Attend & participate in CHANEL Education Seminars and Sales meetings as required.
  • Embody and portray the image of CHANEL by adhering to professional conduct and CHANEL image guidelines.
  • Directly interact with clients on brand philosophy, points of difference, product knowledge and fulfilling clients’ beauty needs.
  • In-depth knowledge of CHANEL fragrance and beauty products and as important, service standards.

Experience Creator: the NMUA creates unique in-store client experiences.
  • Develop influential relationships with staff and Retail Partners to inspire and motivate the team to achieve client experience and sales objectives.
  • Role model selling techniques and elevated service standards at point of sale to enhance the client experience.
  • Partner with Account Team before each event to do the following: Pre-event logistics, goals and communication of event theme, focus products and product knowledge.
  • Lead events in key stores across the designated region providing clients with an elevated and high touch experience through elevated skincare diagnosis and makeup application in multiple formats: 1:1 Personal Appointments, Master Class 1: many formats and other event animations.
  • Work with brand partners on new ways to elevate the CHANEL Event Experience, client recruitment and retention, and overall service skills of our Beauty Advisors.
  • Post in-store visits/events, provide feedback to Account Executive and Area Education Director on event experience successes and opportunities.

Learning Coach: The NMUA is an artistic authority.
  • Cultivate an environment that encourages the open exchange of ideas and inspires all artists at point of sale.
  • Possesses strong and effective communication skills to present with authority the latest makeup tips and trends and how it relates to CHANEL’s seasonal looks and color collections
  • Participate and support Education Executives for the artistry portion during trainings, such as onboarding & Seasonal Education.
  • Supports CHANEL Education directives by serving as a role model and by coaching and developing artistry skills and product knowledge to Beauty Advisors, Retail Managers, and Freelance Makeup Artists at the point of sale.
  • Identify and communicate effectiveness of training initiatives, training needs, staff performance, and morale with Retail/Counter Managers, Education Executives and meeting those gaps through in-store support.
  • Participate and educate yourself and our Beauty Advisors through the brand’s e-learning app: Inside Beauty.
  • Develop and execute in store learning activities to support core artistry training priorities within the store environment.

You Are Energized By:
  • Presenting to clients virtually and in-person to inform them of product and service offerings

  • Creativity and the ability to work with clients to achieve their desired result
Position Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years of in store-experience with Sales or Education background
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience working in fast-paced retail environments
  • Ability to manage and be accountable for schedule, budget & travel
  • Proven sales success
  • Professional Portfolio preferred
  • Level of comfort and professional performance virtually
  • Multi Language a plus
  • 75% Travel Required
  • Flexibility with scheduling requirements
  • Excellent presentation skills as well as strong written communication skills
  • Cosmetology License, Makeup Certification and/or Aesthetician License preferred
  • Self-motivated
  • Ability to create social content for internal virtual learning platforms to showcase your artistry and personality.
  • College Diploma preferred
