Job Description

Notre École, a French Immersion STEAM, charter school, seeks a qualified and passionate part time (.25 FTE) music teacher, to teach elementary students in grades K -4, for the 2023- 2024 school year.

The ideal teacher will work in collaboration with faculty to implement a creative general music curriculum and provide musical direction for productions. Notre École is particularly interested in candidates who will enrich the diversity of the students’ identities, motivate students to develop skills needed for a good foundation for education in accordance with each student’s ability, and to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members.


TiDuties of this job include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, textbooks, materials and facilities;
  • Establish learning objectives consistent with appraisal of student needs, curriculum framework, and knowledge of human growth and development;
  • Arrange and participate in teacher-parent or teacher-student conferences as necessary;
  • Establish clear goals and objectives;
  • Confer with parents and students regarding progress/problems of assigned students;
  • Counsel pupils when academic and adjustment problems arise;
  • Maintain order and discipline in the classroom conducive to effective learning and take all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities;
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, Board Policy and Administrative Regulation;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Develop and implement a creative general music curriculum for elementary students;
  • Evaluate student progress using appropriate assessment techniques;

  • SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

    • Excellent oral and communication skills.
    • Ability to provide instruction that reflects multiple perspectives and multicultural
    • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, administrators, colleagues, community, and other school system staff;
    • Speaks French (preferred but not required);
    • Ability to work with diverse populations;
    • Education;
    • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the teaching and learning process;
    • Current Elementary licensure required or ability to obtain licensure;
    • Knowledge of school organization, goals and objectives, curriculum, teaching techniques, current trends, research, and materials of instruction in field of specialization;

  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • • License: Music Education in the State of Minnesota (Preferred) or ability to obtain a Tier license in the state of MN.
    • • French (Preferred, not required)
