Our school family inspires young people to excel in learning and life through growth in faith, integrity, knowledge and service.Job Types: Full-time, ContractSalary: $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per yearMusic Teacher Responsibilities: Teaching general styles of music to both chorus classes, instrumental ensembles, and music appreciation courses.
Teaching singing to students from beginner to advanced level.Preparing students for two school concerts (Christmas and Spring) and planned musical experiences.Preparing students for practicals and exams.Inspiring and motivating students to extend themselves to music clubs.Building relationships and mentoring students.Essential Functions: 1. Plan developmentally appropriate lessons and learning activities that address the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. Appropriate planning includes: Developing a yearly plan/pacing chart aligned to the MCF.Designing unit plans and lesson plans that support the yearly plan.Differentiating instructional plans for at-risk and for academically talented students.Planning for appropriate materials use, field trips, and other special learning events that support and enhance instructional goals.Preparing clear lesson plans and instructions for substitutes.2. Deliver well-organized, well-connected, smoothly flowing lessons that require active student participation and that students understand.3.
Effectively manage student behavior.Develop, teach, and implement a classroom management/student behavior plan.Create a respect-for-all environment in the classroom and throughout the school.Monitor student behavior throughout the school day: classroom, class changes, and other times as needed.Administer consistent, appropriate interventions for student misbehavior.Maintain student and teacher dignity at all times.Realize that student behavior issues are additional opportunities to teach a child.4. Analyze test data and other diagnostic information and use this information in planning as appropriate for music education.5. Use assessment as an integral element in instruction.6. Be knowledgeable of and use current technologies in planning, communications, and in instruction.7.
Work cooperatively with all staff members and consistently maintain a professional attitude.8. Make parent contacts an important element in the overall learning experience.9.
