Job Description
Summary


The Multi-Modality Technologist I provides diagnostic imaging in multiple specialties in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Spends a minimum of 25% of time practicing in secondary discipline.


This technologist is licensed in both CT and Diagnostic X-Ray and required to work in both modalities.


Detailed Responsibilities


  • Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department.
  • Assists with preparation and administration of contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice. Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s) taking appropriate action to resolve image quality issues. Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
  • Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure(s).
  • Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.

Required Work Experience: One (1) year of technologist experience in a hospital setting.


  • Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in either of the following within one (1) year of hire date: Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), or Vascular Interventional Radiology (VI).
