Teltrium is a technical services company that provides systems engineering and project execution support and capabilities to satellite communications and spectrum management technology programs for NASA and other customers.We’re a small company focused on nurturing an agile and innovative team, developing creative and high-quality solutions for our unique customers.
We are seeking a multimedia designer with a passion for science and technology who thrives in a high-energy, dynamic workplace. This designer supports a range of projects which require the presentation of technical content and industry-specific topics relevant to our company and customers, including spacecraft and communications engineering and technologies, as well as scientific concepts. The core activities require collaboration with technical and program leads to define the messaging and objectives of the content, and to iterate on product development.
Products vary by project and may include:
- Video: Capture, edit, and produce videos (both from events recording and from animation products) for training courses and public outreach.
- Web: design website graphics and functional elements, layouts, etc.
- Graphics: Collaborate with technical and program leads to understand the desired messaging and objectives for the project, which may range from presentation material (PowerPoint), to educational material (posters or pamphlets), and figures in technical documents (reports, proposals, etc.)
- Text: Development of draft text to accompany figures, graphics, and animations, etc.
- Animation: Custom animation to explain systems, technical concepts, and analysis.
In addition to the products above, the ideal candidate would be able to maintain the company website, deploying updated multimedia content as applicable, and recommending design changes to keep the public-facing content fresh and relevant.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in graphic arts, design, communications, or related field is preferred but not necessary
3-5 years of experience in graphic design, with a compelling portfolio of work over a wide range of creative projects
Role / Work Schedule
This is a full-time, on-site position.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and web design fundamentals
- Knowledge of Maya, 3dsMax, Cinema 4D, Houdini, Blender and other 3D modeling or similar animation design software
- Mature professional communications skills, and willingness and ability to take direction and feedback when offered
- Comfort working in a high-energy, dynamic environment
- Animation and videography skills are strongly preferred
- Knowledge of website design; familiarity with GUI mock-up tools like Figma, and HTML and CSS is preferred but not necessary
- Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software
- Strong organization and attention to detail are required
- Self-starter and creative problem solver with the ability to meet strict deadlines
