Weekend shift position to cover the MRI department. The shift is 08:00 AM-20:30 PM weekends at Bozeman Deaconess hospital. Schedule provides plenty of time to enjoy empty days on the ski hill, quiet trail systems, and plenty of other outdoor hobbies.
Position Summary:
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist II-Acute Care (MRI Tech II) provides health care services by assisting in diagnosis or treatment. Performs MRI procedures, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images used in the diagnosis and treatment of patient pathologies. Uses knowledge of imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy to create high quality images for interpretation by radiologists and other medical professionals. Modifies technical settings and adjusts scanning parameters to enhance images and minimize unnecessary exposure. Performs routine inspections and maintenance on scanner and archives imaging data. Works in the inpatient setting.

This role supports the hospital 24 hours daily and employees are expected to work varied shifts.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of Committee of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA) accredited Radiology program or equivalent
- 2 years’ of MRI previous experience in a hospital setting
- Demonstrates competencies to perform emergency/trauma MRI procedures that require anesthesia and other procedural MRI exams for all populations including Neonates, Pediatrics, and adults
- American Heart Association BLS within 90 days of hire
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Certified MRI Technician certification
- Performs MRI exams and procedures for NICU, CCU, ED and other hospital departments as requested by medical staff.
- Retrieves and files exam jackets, written orders, and related health information to ensure the timely performance and reporting of MRI exams and procedures.
- Expectation to support and train peers.
- Participates in the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of hospital quality indicators as described in the strategic plan.
- Performs ancillary duties as required to maintain proper distribution, billing, and archival of exams and procedures.
- Completes documentation, in designated area, of all information required for proper interpretation, reporting, archiving, and retrieval of exams.
- Assists the Radiologists and other medical staff during exams and procedures.
- Participate in call rotation to support department.
- Works independently in a highly complex, acute care inpatient setting.
- Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality.
- Creativity, problem analysis and decision making.
- Self-directed, completes assignments accurately, thoroughly and with minimal oversight.
- Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times.
- Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment with limited supervision.
- Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications and standard office equipment.
