Description

Become a part of the team behind the team.

As employees of the Portland Trail Blazers at the Rose Quarter, we do more than basketball. We are blazing trails toward winning championships on and off the court.

We are pioneers and innovators. We look for people who push boundaries, who dream, who are committed to inclusivity – who want to contribute to Rip City!

As our Motion Graphics Designer – Part-Time, you will play a critical role focused on creating, designing, formatting, and executing motion graphic elements for the arena, digital, broadcasting, marketing, partnership, and other Trail Blazers departments. You will collaborate closely with other designers, video editors, producers, and other Creative Services team members to bring ideas to life through motion design.

Day-to-day

  • Have a strong commitment to creating an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions with the Creative Service team and provide creative input to help develop ideas, project direction, and design concepts.
  • Conceptualize and design high-quality and visually dynamic motion graphics, animations, and visual effects for LED displays, digital content, and other requested projects.
  • Assist with keying and other composting of video footage.
  • Create and manipulate production assets (photography and video) by adding typography, illustrations, color grades, and overlays to enhance final productions.
  • Bring static design elements to life through animation by applying keyframes, scripts, and other techniques to enhance visual storytelling.
  • Stay up to date with the latest motion design trends, techniques, and AI advancements in the visual effects industry.

WE’D LIKE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:

  • Experience with Cinema 4D, Red Giant plug-ins, and other AE scripts.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in motion graphics.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the flexibility to work within a rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong time and resource management skills.
  • Ability to occasionally work flexible hours, including game nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.
  • Familiarity with After Effects plug-ins like Red Giant, Mocha, and Saphire.
  • Ability to follow directions relayed through project management software and understand project goals, deadlines, and final deliverables.
  • A creative and forward-thinking approach.
  • A deep understanding of Adobe platforms such as After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere.

Offers of employment are conditional upon proof of COVID-19 vaccination or approval of a medical or religious exemption and accommodation from the company along with the successful results of an individual background check.
