As the day-to-day contact person for our credit union staff, you'll provide exceptional member service, guide the workflow, and ensure a smooth lending process. Processing
Key Responsibilities:
Member Services: Delight our members by effectively communicating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain professionalism in language, appearance, and attitude, even under time constraints.
Assist in training and supporting staff members to implement new loan products and services.
Stay up-to-date with lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate processes, enhancing efficiency.
Loan Review/Processing
Process various loan applications (HELOC, Equity, Conventional, Refinance, FHA, VA) adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.
Manage the loan pipeline, ensuring timely and compliant flow throughout the process.
Verify the accuracy and compliance of loan setup and address any challenging scenarios or loan conditions.
Thoroughly analyze documentation for completeness and accuracy before submitting files for underwriting review.
Facilitate clear and courteous communication with members and lending staff, providing updates and requesting additional information as needed.
Serve as a team lead during staff absences, ensuring service standards are met.
Stay informed about changes in policies, procedures, standards, and regulations in the industry.
Collaborate with management to resolve escalated issues from members and the team.
Closing/Funding/Post-Closing
Closing/Funding:
Review final approvals, validate closing fees, and ensure all necessary documentation is prepared accurately before loan closing.
Prepare and track members' receipt of Closing Disclosure as per TRID regulations.
Coordinate with branch staff and third parties to accommodate closings.
Monitor and ensure timely and accurate disbursement of loans.
Post-Closing
Oversee the imaging of loan documents into the core system for servicing.
Conduct a thorough post-closing review of completed packages to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Qualification Requirements

Education And Experience
Associate's degree or equivalent; one to two years of related experience in mortgage lending; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret loan agreements, debt obligation documents, and instructions related to debt obligations and recovery procedures.
Effective written and verbal communication skills when interacting with members and colleagues.
Mathematical Skills
Proficiency in basic mathematical operations, including rate, ratio, percent, and measurement conversions.
Reasoning Ability
Strong problem-solving skills, the ability to collect and analyze data, and draw valid conclusions.
Capacity to interpret a wide range of credit-related documents and handle abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Notary public or the ability to obtain one.
Other Skills And Abilities
Proficient in basic computer functions, including data input and output related to member accounts.
Availability to attend credit union functions supporting education, community, and marketing outreach efforts.
Familiarity with standard office equipment and tools, such as computers, fax machines, telephones, etc.
Knowledge of products and services offered by other financial institutions.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, you'll need to sit, talk, hear, use hands for handling objects, and reach with hands and arms. Walking may be required occasionally, and lifting/moving objects up to 30 lbs might be necessary. Visual abilities, such as close vision and depth perception, are important.
Work Environment
The work environment is usually moderate in noise level.
Mental Demands
You'll be required to write letters, negotiate, and employ resourcefulness to resolve problems and challenges. Problem-solving, sound judgment, initiative, and analytical skills are frequently needed.
