This posting will be used to fill multiple positions.
Various Shifts available
The Monitor Technician is a trained member of the nursing team within the Telemetry department. Monitor Technicians provide 24/7 telemetry monitoring and observation for inpatients from all disciplines throughout the hospital. The department focus is aiding in identification and prevention of acute cardiac and respiratory events, providing additional monitoring as needed, and to ensure our patients receive the highest possible care available. The Telemetry department strives to maintain the most updated evidence-based practices and equipment needed to facilitate our goals. Monitor Technicians are an integral part of the multidisciplinary team approach we implement at UAMS.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED, or formal educational equivalent
  • At least one (1) year of direct patient care related experience.
Special knowledge, abilities and skills:
  • Must complete the dysrhythmia course within 90 day evaluation period and maintain competency as a telemetry technician.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, ability to follow oral instructions, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.

Physical Requirements:
  • Employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; and/or visual inspection at distances close to the eyes.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
