Job Description
Airswift has been tasked by one of our major Oil & Gas clients to seek for a Molecular Biologist to work with them in the Research Triangle Park, NC for a 1-year contract.


This person will be part of a team that is a key contributor towards developing new trait products that will benefit farmers in controlling weeds, pests and diseases. The responsibilities include: performing plate-based molecular biology protocol steps along a throughput process to quantify target protein expression and contribute to the team’s success by completing sample submissions with quality data on time and improving the process.


Major Tasks and responsibilities


  • Ensure compliance to Safety and Stewardship programs
  • Carry out experiments from planning the experimental set-up, through performing the experiment, to a thorough evaluation and reporting of the results. The execution of the work involves the use of plant materials and the proper handling of chemicals and instruments including automation in the laboratory
  • As a member of this team, you will efficiently plan and execute molecular analyses of transgenes utilizing different tools and technologies, for example ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay).
  • Work well with others, contribute to team synergy


The Main Objective of this Function


Thoroughly characterize trait genes in our research pipeline at nucleic acid and protein levels.


Qualifications


  • Creative problem-solving skills, strong planning and organizational capabilities, strong time management skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Expertise in generating and analyzing protein and/or RNA expression data using multiple technologies
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus.
  • Detail and accuracy-oriented.
  • Demonstrated experience with protein and nucleic acid manipulation techniques including purification and quantification
  • BS in Biology or related field


Familiarity with molecular biology software and data management tools
