Job Description
Be a part of building one of the first rural mobile crisis teams in New Mexico. Nurstead Consulting Services is looking for qualified candidates to join our mobile crisis teams. This position is an on-call, on-scene response position that gives the exciting opportunity to help individuals in mental health crises in real-time and change the outcomes by working closely with the individual to resolve the crisis.
JOB SUMMARY
Participates in a rotating on-call schedule to provide crisis intervention to clients, assessing for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, de-escalation of mental health crises. Crisis services are provided within the community and on-site of the crisis and are behavioral health led services, not co-responder model in most situations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Crisis Responsibilities:
Provide crisis intervention services in person or by telephone to police, school and hospital personnel, and community residents dealing with crisis situations. This includes referrals as well as diagnostic assessment and crisis intervention treatment.
Conduct emergency on-site assessments of clients to determine the need for inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.
Assess and stabilize high risk individuals and/or families.
Provide on-site assessment within 90 minutes.
Participate in a rotation schedule with all other mobile crisis response therapists assigned to the team. Typically, 12-hour shift for one week. (Monday through Sunday 6:00am-6:00pm or 6:00pm-6:00am)
Maintain records in accordance with agency policies and complete required outcomes protocols.
Participate in agency meetings, training, and in-services.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related degree.
Licensed within the State of New Mexico with LLCSW, LPCC, LMSW, LMHC, or LMFT
Experience with provision of crisis intervention, assessment, and diagnosis. (training provided)
Demonstrated Competencies:
Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with consumers, referrals sources, and other community providers is absolutely essential.
Ability to relate to a diverse population
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
LANGUAGE
Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred.
OTHER
Must maintain a safe driving record and have current valid Driver’s License. Personal vehicle needed for transportation to/from home and community-based interventions. Mileage for authorized work-related purposes is reimbursable.
PAY
Pay is a stipend based on working a full week of on-call and is not based on number of called received.
