The Boeing Company has an exciting opportunity available in Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Space and Launch Team for a Mid-Level Quality Production Specialist at our Kennedy Space Center, FL facility.
This position will be directly supporting the manufacturing and assembly of the Space Launch System Core Stage and engine section. The Space Launch System is the next generation rocket that will be carrying humans back to the Moon and beyond to Mars.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Negotiates concurrence, obtains commitments for taking preventive and corrective action, prioritizes quality activities and ensures problem resolution.
  • Performs root cause analysis on the nonconformance to identify the cause and prevent reoccurrence.
  • Applies knowledge of aerospace design, systems and integration to perform failure and forensic analysis of aerospace components and systems.
  • Obtains corrective action on nonconforming plans and hardware/processes.
  • Interprets industry standards and provide recommendations for implementation.
  • Independently develops, modifies and documents actions to assure problem resolution or to implement corrective/preventive action and documents resolution.
  • Reviews and validates the corrective action plans and identifies effectively to ensure completion.
  • Guides validation of configuration management, quality procedures and material review policies to deliver the software products.
  • Performs analysis to identify and evaluate the quality of products, operations and processes to Quality Management System requirements, applicable company procedures, contract requirements or government regulations.
  • Creates analytical reports and coordinates with the responsible parties for internal/external distribution.
  • Trains and mentors fellow employees in the Quality Management System.
  • Reviews and approves Quality planning changes or disposition of nonconformance hardware products/processes.
  • Reviews and validates product non-conformances and disposition type, quality procedures and engineering requirements.
  • Reviews and implements corrective action on audit results to ensure media is stored and handled per engineering defined requirements.
  • Works under general direction.


This position requires the ability to obtain a clearance for access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.


The ability to obtain program access for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in an aerospace, fabrication or manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years quality experience
  • Experience reviewing manufacturing and or repair/modification detailed planning steps to ensure that the planning, if executed as it was written, would satisfy the design/engineering requirements
  • Current or previous Material Review Board (MRB) experience/certification
  • Experience gathering data and performing a Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)
  • Experience in NASA Space programs or a related Space or Defense program


Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 3 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+1 years' related work experience, 5 years' related work experience, etc.).

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
Travel:
Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.
