Job Description

Job Title: Microbiologist

Location:East Syracuse, NY, 13057

Duration: 6 Months


Tue-Sat 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM

This position is a team-based position that requires rotating shift work, weekends, holidays and overtime


Job Requirements:

  • Perform limited interpretation of data.
  • Demonstrate ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously and complete assignments in a timely and compliant manner, with minimal supervision.
  • Has excellent manual dexterity and aseptic technique.
  • Has ability to complete sampling or testing assignments in a timely and compliant manner, with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs and compendia testing required. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique, environmental monitoring, and microbiological Quality Control testing and procedures preferred.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducts routine microbiological analyses of environmental monitoring and a variety of clean utility samples using aseptic technique and in compliance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the implementation of new methods and equipment/instrumentation by performing required testing in support of validations, qualifications, or suitability testing.
  • Must analyze, evaluate, and interpret data, notifying clients of results and assisting to resolve issues, if applicable.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies from normal procedures or practices.
  • Must be capable of maintaining laboratory documentation associated with testing and investigations in areas of assigned responsibility.
  • Maintains a level of technical knowledge and understanding in the assigned area of responsibility, including use of equipment and instrumentation and is able to troubleshoot problems, if they occur.
  • Must update and write new procedures, protocols, and reports, as requested.
