Position Summary

The Student Affairs Department is looking for a highly motivated Manager of Financial Aid. This position will be essential in moving the Student Financial Aid Office forward with the strategic enrollment initiatives to increase enrollment.

The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows.

  • Conduct assessments and manage and collect data, to support data driven decision making.
  • Processing and awarding all types of aid including but not limited to grants, loans, scholarships, money lists and departmental awards.
  • Develops operating goals and objectives for the unit. Implements and administers methods and procedures to enhance operations, as appropriate to the unit.
  • Overseeing the work study/student employment program to include posting available positions, hiring and termination paperwork as well as processing bi-weekly timesheets
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Overseeing the Veteran’s Education benefit certification process which includes serving as a school certifying official.
  • Assists Student Affairs Director in establishing and implementing short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
  • Represent the department on behalf of the Director of Student Affairs as needed.
  • Implement technology as appropriate to improve processes and reach all audiences.
  • Supervise financial aid staff, which included recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training work allocation and problem resolution.
  • Identifying and awarding scholarship through the Award Spring platform.
  • Work closely with Director of Student Affairs on departmental budget needs and priorities.
  • Assisting students and their families with the FAFSA (Federal Application for Federal Student Aid) to determining eligibility.
  • Conducts workshops and training seminars to inform students and university clients about student financial aid. Participate in recruitment and outreach activities at the local and state level as needed.
  • Work closely with the Director of Student and various other departments to align the current recruitment, admissions and New Student Orientation processes to the career interest cohorts and guided pathways model.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
