POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect and Team Lead to join our BI and Reporting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with our business analysts and stakeholders as well as leading the team of BI developers to design, develop, and implement innovative business intelligence solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain documentation of data models, data flows, and data mappings.
  • Lead a team of BI engineers in the design, development and deployment of our Azure data lake based BI Solution.
  • Act as an evangelist for a bigger picture strategy, integrating the business and technological vision, connecting the dots across business needs, technologies, processes, and information.
  • Review Data Warehouse business cases and initiatives to identify, assess, and communicate feasibility, architecture requirements, costs, and issues. In general, provide thought leadership to evolving business intelligence (BI) activities.
  • Work with business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Propose and run/govern proof of concepts for new technologies which could result in differentiating capabilities for the business.
  • Define vision, strategy, and principles for data management in collaboration with senior executives to support the company’s business strategies and priorities.
  • Ensure data quality and data governance standards are met across the data platform.
  • Other work as assigned.
  • Manage team by performing performance evaluations, development and growth plans, appraisals, and remediation as needed.
  • Develop, implement, measure, and continuously improve workflow processes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience and Training:

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in BI development, data modeling, and data integration.

  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques, and ETL processes.
  • Experience in leading and managing teams of BI engineers.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure data management and business intelligence stack including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake (Gen 2), Databricks, Azure Analysis Services, Azure SQL Database, and Power BI.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language (Python, Java, Scala).

SALARY RANGE & BENEFIT OPTIONS FOR COLORADO APPLICANTS:

Salary Range: Base Salary of approximately $150,000 - $180,000 annually plus bonus - compensation is commensurate with skills & experience.
