Job Description

  • High school diploma or equivalent


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (i.e., functions, authorities, tasks, etc.)
  • Stage and load all shipments
  • Pack approved orders of metal per pack instructions
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Fill in for Traffic Supervisor as needed
  • Internally with all employees
  • Operate overhead cranes as needed to prepare metal for shipment
  • Complete documentation per pack instructions
  • Assist truck driver to ensure loads will scale out to comply with DOT guidelines and regulations
  • Forklift loading of vans, flatbeds, refrigerated trucks and containers
  • Tip coils and place separators between rows of coils, as needed
  • Unload trucks with incoming supplies, cores and pallets
  • Willingness to cross train
  • Operate stretch wrapper, scale, and labeling machines
  • Operate forklift to transport metal to and from pack area
  • Ensure pack slips are included with all shipments
  • Coordinate with Traffic Supervisor loading to West Virginia
  • Advocate for continuous improvement projects
  • Operate stretch wrapper, scale, and labeling machines
  • Manage Mill pallet stock and banding supplies for Cold Mill and shipping department
  • Receive inbound supplies, cores, and pallets and distribute to proper area
  • Comply with the Company's quality management system requirements
  • Load and unload annealing skids with metals
  • Band metal & transfer to staging area
  • Check coil labels, pack slips and Bill of Lading for accuracy
  • Ensure Bill of Lading are signed and returned to shipping office
