Mental Health Technician, UHS Binghamton General Hospital United Health Services is seeking a Mental Health Technician to join our Psych Krembs 5 department at UHS Binghamton General Hospital in Binghamton, NY. This position is benefits eligible. Evening 24 $18.56 - 26.92 USD per hour, depending on experience. Mental Health Technician / Overview Provides direct patient care related to biopsychosocial rehabilitation of the patient in the Behavioral Health setting. Activities include direct patient care as related to environment of care, safety issues, therapeutic communication and co-facilitation of groups. Utilizes effective communication skills.

• Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Human Services or 4 years of experience in a Mental Health related field or inpatient hospital setting and completion of Abnormal Psych within 2 years of hire.

• Bachelor’s degree in area with Human Service Focus

• Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.
• Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
• Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients. Rooms are air conditioned and heated.
• PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by UHS Hospitals Infection Control policies.
